e106: Causing a RIFT with Scott Hartsman, Trion Worlds

Hey MMO fans! Tonight’s special guest is RIFT executive producer Scott Hartsman. Scott sits down with us for an extended interview about the new MMORPG that launches this Thursday. We cover everything from what the game is about, and details about it’s development cycle, to why it’s important to prioritize fun above everything else. So will this game be the one to pull you away from WoW? Or maybe return to an MMO at all? From PVE to PVP and raiding…if you had any lingering questions about RIFT they’re sure to be answered on this weeks Shotgun!

e105.5: The Day for Love

e105: Xtina Is A Commie

Hey everybody! This week we’re back in classic trifecta format with Modeps, Kragg and Gzsfrk joining us in the third slot. We answer your voicemails and then get down to the business of talking about games. Kragg and Gszfrk weigh in about Bionic Commando: Re-Armed 2, and tell you if it’s worth your time. Spoiler alert: it’s sort of not. Then Kragg and Modeps talk way too much about the hotly anticipated MMO Rift, giving you details about experiences with the closed beta. Then a little more on the RPG front with some talk about Two Worlds 2 co-op campaign with Kragg, and we round out the show with Gzsfrk’s hands-on impressions of the new You Don’t Know Jack. All this, your weekly releases, and EA Online Pass sucks, on this weeks Shotgun!

e104: Jellyvision and YOU DON’T KNOW JACK

In this special mid-week edition of the Shotgun podcast, modeps and special guest red gzsfrk host the team behind the You Don’t Know Jack franchise, Jellyvision Games. In addition to being joined by several longtime developers and writers from the series, Mike Bildner, Steve Heinrich, Allard Laban, Arnie Niekamp, and Evan Jacover, we were also very excited to hear from legendary booth jockey and host of the latest Jack game, “Cookie” Masterson (Tom Gottlieb). So if you want a free taste of what’ll cost you good money when the new game launches next Tuesday (2/8), have a listen!

It’s time for when Jellyvision and Evil Avatar Collide… SHOTGUN PODCAST.

Then Kragg gives some quick impressions about Two Worlds 2, and Modeps goes into depth about how awesome Dead Space 2 is. Then we answer the timeless question, “What is better? Move, or Kinect?” and find out the answer is “Move”. Finally, we talk about the demos of Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 to varying degrees of excitement and pre-ordering. All this and no Facebook updates on this weeks Shotgun!
