e99: A Very Bear-y Christmas

It’s that special time of year again. A time when we remember the true spirit of the season, celebrate with loved ones, and have Josh Bear from Twisted Pixel on our podcast to make a bunch of sexist jokes. That’s right. Josh is back and sitting in to help us close out the calendar with our final episode of 2010. Tonight’s topics include “The indie game development scene and how to offend the people in it”, “Why Quake Arena doesn’t work without a mouse and keyboard”, “Hydrophobia Pure. What?”, and “Potpourri”. We also have a chat about our “just missed” list for games of the year, until Jim is far too drunk to make sense anymore.

Oh, and in case you didn’t know, Twisted Pixel is making this game called Ms. Splosion Man, and Josh talks about that. Mostly about why she cries so much.

All this and more on the annual finale of Shotgun! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

e098: Awards Shows Suck

The 2010 VGA’s taught us how to not keep it real, and this week Pwn, Modeps and Kragg explain why that’s not legit. On the upside we saw some trailers, and those get discussed as well. What IS legit is the Evil Avatar community, and our Game and Shame of The Year nominations. We run down the nominee list this week for both categories, as the 12 Days of Evil come to a close. Modeps gives us a quick hands on of Chair Entertainment’s new iOS game Infinity Blade, Pwn talks about DK Country Returns, and Kragg explains why Resident Evil 5 may have one of the worst endings of all time.

All this, and basically no weekly releases, on this weeks Shotgun!

e097: The Sickcast

Hey everybody! We’re back from a week hiatus and two out of your three hosts have fallen ill, so you’ll have to excuse us while we try not to cough into our mics. Not even this great northeastern plague can keep us from telling you about the great giveaways coming up on the site during the 12 Days of Evil going on right now! Then we have a nice chat about puzzle games as Kragg gives impressions of Ilomilo, and Pwnophobia takes a little bit more about Super Scribblenauts. Then in the main event Modeps and Pwn talk about how much they absolutely love Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Finally, Pwn reviews the less than stellar Thrustmaster Ferrari controller for PS3 and Jim explains why Mickey is far from Epic. All this, WoW Cataclysm, and a shocking surprise announcement you won’t want to miss, on this weeks Shotgun!
