e087: Developing Narratives, Missing Opportunities

TOO MUCH GAMES! Tonight we have special guest host Tom (OhTheCommotion) sit in while we catch up on our lost week! We field your listener mail and then get into an extended conversation about Halo Reach. Apparently people are still playing that, and you get the definitive Kragg review directly into your ear holes. Then Modeps gives his impressions on Minecraft, the sensation that’s sweeping the nation, and by “nation” I mean “a group of game enthusiasts posting on Twitter”. On the downloadable game tip, Kragg Modeps and Pwn give their initial impressions on the new physics-heavy action/adventure Hydrophobia, and Modeps talks about Dead Rising 2:Case Zero. Finally we wrap things up with Pwn’s post-game follow up on Spiderman Shattered Dimensions. All this, your weekly releases, and a quick history lesson about Thomas Malthus on this weeks SHOTGUN!

e086: Under the Bus

This week we have more news than a Chinese phonebook has chins! We drop detailed news about the new “Clan EvAv” official gaming clan for EvilAvatar.com. Kragg gives some extended info including reasons behind it, where to sign up, and the newly created Steam group. Pwn has news on the new Street Fighter Beginner’s Guide, as well as an upcoming tournament that we’ll be hosting. And of course, what tournament would be worth it’s salt without big money and BIG PRIZES? (I LOVE IT!) so we’ll be giving away one of the new EvAv tee shirts that just went on sale up on the site!

This week Halo:Reach drops, and we give some first impressions on why people already hate it before it’s even been released. Sony is also releasing their movement-based controller apparatus this week, and we’ll detail a few of the launch titles. So get ready for us to do a lot of talking over one another on a very announcement filled Shotgun!

PS: modeps likes mozzarella sticks.

e085: Happy Labor Day Everyone!

This week we have a quick show for the holiday. It’s a day of relaxation, so it’s time to chill out and enjoy the unofficial end of summer while we talk about some games. We cover the colossal news that Duke Nukem Forever will actually see the light of day, and weigh in on whether we think it’ll be awesome or a total flop.

Jim and Adam give reviews on Gladiator Begins and Shank, respectively, and Kragg joins everyone back in 2005 by beating God of War.

All this and your weekly releases on a special holiday Shotgun!
